Sunshine Blogger Award

Sunshine Blogger Award

This post has been a long time coming and i apologise profusely to The Mommy Lady! You can find her here. Check her out – she is fabulous! It has been a few weeks since I was nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award and shocked does not even come close! Thank you and thank you again lovely for the nomination.

What makes The Sunshine Blogger Award so special (in my eyes anyway) is that you are nominated by other bloggers for inspiring positivity and joy! #postivepants – anyone that knows me, know I do strive to be positive most of the time.

The rule for the award are as follows:

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  • Nominate (at least) 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

So, the questions that I got asked are below:

1.What is your favourite type of foreign cuisine?

I had a good hard think about this and it would have to be Italian. I love pasta, pesto and pizza too much! And there are so many variations of sauces and bases and toppings… too much for me at times. And then there is the ice-cream <3 I had the most amazing Nutella ice-cream when I was in Rome. Just, oh! It was beautiful.

2.What is your earliest childhood memory?

I thought hard about this one too and I think my most vivid would have to be when I was about 7. I was playing with my granny on the floor with my new shoes. Before you think we were crazy, ‘back in my day’ we had games on the soles of shoes. Ones where you had to direct a ball around an obstacle course…. Sure beats Candy Crush!

3.If you could be any animal, what would you be?

I have actually discussed this only recently with a work colleague! At the moment I would love to be a migratory bird that is headed off to the sunshine. We see them every morning as we walk to a meeting and with the dark mornings, it seems a lovely life!

4.Fantasy dinner guests, you can choose only five, who would they be?

Ooh this is a hard one!

  • Barack Obama – that was easy, purely because he is him and amazing. I just love him
  • Anne Boleyn. I love that period in history. She had the most interesting of lives. Her whole story fascinates me, the more I read about her, the more I want to read about her.
  • David Attenborough. I would love to pick his brain about all the amazing places he has been and all the things he has seen.
  • Marilyn Monroe. Living during such an influential period of American history. I would love to know how she felt about life.
  • Harry Potter – simply because I love him.

5.Which is the most influential book you have ever read?

I read a lot and have a lot of books I love! But the most recent book that makes me want to share with everyone is The Tattooist of Auschwitz. I also try to say so little about this book so that you can read it yourself. I can only say it is such an amazing book and should be read by everyone.

6.What motivates you to keep blogging on?

Because I enjoy it. I have thought about it for ages and finally thought that I should just go for it and I love it. I enjoy it and the community is amazing! I have recently discovered my love of writing and because I enjoy it, it makes it easier to continue. I am still so new to it, I am just finding my feet, but at the moment, I am really enjoying it. I have actually struggled recently due to work and travelling to get my next post out. But because of how supportive the community is, I knew this will not be a massive problem. Reading other people’s blogs, instead of just aimlessly scrolling social media, I love catching up with my favourite blogs.

7.Would you rather be trapped in a confined space completely alone or with lots of other people that you don’t know?

This is a hard one. Once you know me, I never shut up, but the first time I meet people I am quite shy. Yet, trapped in a confined space would make me panic more! So from that basis I would have to be with people I didn’t know and do what I normally do, just make myself talk to them.

8.Name a fictional character with whom you identify most.

I am a 90’s child and for that reason only, it would have to be Rachel from Friends! Whenever I watch it, I can still imagine myself saying and doing everything she does!

9.What fascinates you the most?

People! I love people watching – my favourite thing is to sit with a brew and watch the world go by. Airports are my favourite place – I would love to know everyone’s story! Where are they going and why. I am just nosey!

10.What three traits do you think are most important in a partner/friend/family member?

Honesty – above all.

Understanding – no one knows what anyone is going through and just being nice to someone could mean the world to them!

Kindness – again, it doesn’t cost a thing, a simple compliment, could make someone’s day!

11.If you could have a super power, what would it be?

The ability to click my heels and be home! When I first lived on my own, I suffered from a small amount of homesickness. I was miles from home, in a new village and wasn’t sure that I had made the right decision. I had, it was a fabulous time and made some great friends! But at the start, if someone had given me the power to click my heels and be back at my moms’, I would have snatched it off them. But now – stuck in commuter traffic would never be a problem!

So, here are my questions:

  1.   What is your favourite season and why?
  2.   When did you learn to drive?
  3.   What is your favourite book and why?
  4.   How long have you been blogging for?
  5.   Do you prefer tea or coffee or neither?
  6.   How many siblings do you have?
  7.   Where do you live?
  8.   What is your favourite place you have visited?
  9.   When is your next holiday and where?
  10. Are you a savoury or sweet person?
  11. What is a random fact about you that few people know?

  6. I enjoyed envisioning your imaginary dinner guests. I could picture Harry Potter discussing leadership and destiny with Anne Boleyn.

I recently read Alison Weir’s _Anne Boleyn: A King’s Obsession_. I don’t know a lot about English history, but I had a sense of what Anne’s fate was going to be. Even knowing that, the end of the book was traumatizing to read. But now that I’ve had a bit of break from it, I’d like to tackle the others in the series. Is there a favorite Anne Boleyn book you’d recommend?
