September Happy Things

September Happy Things

5 things that have made me happy this week

  1. Pumpkin Spiced Latte

To be honest, I was trying to put this off for as long as possible. Once I start it is a very quick and slippery slope to full blown addiction. And as they end on 31st October, so it isn’t long to get my fix, so to speak. On Thursday we had an audit at work and this was the very excuse I needed, to treat myself to my favourite drink. And it did not disappoint. Not one bit. And as a bonus, the audit went fab too. Win, win all round.

2 . Getting back to yoga

Ask me about yoga and I will talk you to death how much I love it. But without the structure of a class I have hardly managed to do any. And we all know as the queen of procrastination it is not down to time! It is the structure and the promise that I make myself, that I will spend an hour on me. Calming my mind and focusing on stretching and of cause shivasna ♥

3. Having an early night

Bear with me on this one. I had a killer headache at the start of the week, I couldn’t shift it with anything. So on Tuesday night I went to bed at 7:30; I was tired, I was grumpy and The Boy had, had enough of me and my whinging. The moment I snuggled down and got comfy, I knew I was in the right place. Sometimes self-care is needed and this was one of those times. I needed a good, good sleep and on Wednesday, I felt a million times better for it. And The Boy had some peace and quiet.

4. Getting The Boy back at weekends

On Thursday (it was a busy day all around), it was The Boy’s last day at his current job. And although it was a sad day as it was the first job that he got when we moved up here, all in all it has been a good job. It is an exciting time for me as I get him back at weekends! I am so very excited for this. Not wanting to be too negative, as it is all about #postivepants! But we have had to do a lot of planning on weekends he has been off. To make sure that we see everyone and attend all birthdays and days out. Now, that will not be a problem and we can do simple things (I am all about the simple and less complicated!) at weekends: Walks with Moo, on our favourite stretch of the canal. Popping out for brunch just because, or The Boy cooking delights such as below. And seeing more of family and friends together.

5. Birthday parties

On Sunday it was a favorites 5th birthday party. Although we dodged the actual children’s party – sorry about that! We did have a lovely home party with oodles of cake ♥ I mean of course there wasn’t just cake but there was plenty! And unicorns! I love these parties as it’s a chance to eat cake (again), celebrate little people growing up (scary!) and catch up with everyone. I find we see so much more of everyone now that there are lots little people about and I love it ♥

I loved writing this post. It made me remember all the fabulous things that have happened this week.

Have a fabulous week.

Lots of love

  2. It’s so important to stop and look at the things that we have in life that make us smile. I think this is an exercise that we should all sit down and do in the coming days.
